WHAT SHOULD I PACK FOR MY TRAVEL TO BHUTAN

Bhutan has a wide range of temperature and climatic conditions. For instance, while Thimphu is chilly, Punakha can be hot.  Therefore we advise you to bring warm cloths to protect against the cold as well as few summer wears for places like Punakha. During spring, summer and autumn seasons it is mostly warm during the day times in most of the places while in the winter most of the places get clod both day and night. So, depending on the season you are travelling we advise you to prepare accordingly in terms of the clothing however, please do not forget to pack at least one jacket for all the seasons because Bhutan can still be cold for people coming from warm places.

Dress modestly and respectfully for visits to monasteries, dzongs and other religious institutions. Remove hats, caps etc. before entering, and refrain from smoking on the premises. Your guide will brief you thoroughly regarding this however as the rule we are required to dress modestly, which mean we need to wear a full slip shirts (even a jacket will do as long as it covers your full arms) and long pants (At lease a pant that covers your knees). Please do not forget to pack this.

The following is a fairly exhaustive list of what you should pack for your trip to Bhutan.

  • Hiking shoes for cultural tours and trekking boots for trekkers (Tiger nest hike sometimes poses extreme challenges for non-trekkers so a proper hiking boots will be very important)
