Bhutan Yoga Tour,Meditation is a practice in which an individual trains the mind or induces a mode of consciousness, either to realize some benefit or as an end in itself and Yoga  is a generic term for the physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India with a view to attain a state of permanent peace.Meditation has been linked to a variety of health benefits.

Bhutan is an ancient land, in the eastern Himalayas, with unique customs and deeply held beliefs. It is a land of monasteries, majestic mountains, and an architectural style like no other in the world.

DAY 1. Arrive Paro (Altitude 2280 m) 

Your Guide from Ola Tours and Trek will receive you at the airport and drive you to the Hotel.

After lunch, visit to:

  • Ta Dzong – National Museum (built in1656 and renovated in 1968)
  • Rimpung Dzong (literally meaning “Heap of Jewels”) – built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the first spiritual and temporal ruler of Bhutan.

In the evening you will have your first yoga practice and meditation in Bhutan, at your hotel.

Optional activities you can choose:

  • Hike to Dzongdrakha Monastery.
  • Hike to Nunnery.
  • Village walk.
  • Mountain biking around Paro valley.

DAY 2. Paro- Thimphu (2320 m) (Distance: 54 km, 1 hr drive): In the morning enjoy a serene walk and yoga practice in gardens/ open space.

After breakfast, visit:

  • The ruins of Drukgyel Dzong
  • Kyichu Lhakhang.
  • Dungtse Lhakhang

After lunch, drive to Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu, just in time for a sunset yoga practice.

On the way, view

  • Tamchog Lhakhang – dedicated to the 13th century to Thangthong Gyalpo, the bridge builder.

DAY 3. Thimphu Sightseeing:

After a morning yoga session we will visit

  • National Textile Museum
  • Paper making factory
  • Folk Heritage Museum.
  • Buddha Point

After lunch,

  • Takin Preserve Centre.
  • Leisure time in the evening.

DAY 4. Thimphu – Punakha (Altitude: 1310 m) (Distance: 76 km, 2 hrs)

  • Start early morning with a yoga session
  • Hike to Cheri Monastery. It was built in 1750; the monastery till today maintains spectacular views of the cascading mountain ranges.
  • Retreat inward with a guided meditation led by resident monks.

After lunch in Thimphu, drive to Punakha.

  • Dochula – You can see the higher Himalayas, if the weather permits
  • Royal Botanical Park at Lam Pelri.

  • Khamsum Yulley Lhakhang
  • White water rafting in Mo Chhu/ Pho Chhu

DAY 5. Punakha Sightseeing (1310 m): After breakfast, visit

  • Punakha Dzong – Built in 1637, by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

After lunch,

  • Hike to Chhimi Lhakhang – dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenley also known as “Divine Madman”.

Optional activities you can choose:

  • Drive to Talo Goenpa
  • Khamsum Yulley Lhakhang
  • White water rafting in Mo Chhu/ Pho Chhu

DAY 6. Punakha: 

Morning serenity walk and yoga practice.

  • Hike to the Nalanda Monastery which is situated among the farming fields.
  • Visit and meditate with the resident monks, partaking in their Buddhist teachings.

  • Drive to Talo Goenpa
  • Khamsum Yulley Lhakhang
  • White water rafting in Mo Chhu/ Pho Chhu

DAY 7. Punakha- Thimphu (2320 m): Yoga and meditation at Meri Puensum.

Drive to Thimphu and lunch. You can have your personal exploration of Thimphu. You can join our guide for a happening night on the town.

Optional Activities you can choose:

  • Phajoding Monastery.
  • Mountain biking around Thimphu
  • Bhutanese Cultural show.

 DAY 8. Thimphu Sightseeing:

  • Visit School of the Traditional Arts and studios of local artists. Gleam insight into Bhutan’s history, rich with artistry, and appreciate how modern artists continue to express cultural histories.
  • In the afternoon, continue yoga practice at a local venue.

  • Mountain biking around Thimphu
  • Bhutanese Cultural show.

DAY 9. Thimphu – Paro (2400 m): 

Early morning yoga and meditation followed by breakfast in the hotel.

We then drive to Paro. Afternoon, relax with a massage at the hotel’s spa or meditate at the serene teahouse or temple.

  • Hike to Dzongdrakha Monastery.
  • Hike to Nunnery.
  • Village walk.
  • Mountain biking around Paro valley.

 DAY 10. Paro: After breakfast ,

  • Hike to Taktsang Monastery – 3 hrs ascent.

After lunch, relaxation perhaps in the form of massage or Bhutanese Hot Stone bath.

  • Hike to Nunnery.
  • Mountain biking around Paro valley.

Day 11. Paro. Departure: Early morning drive to the airport and farewell.
